MFA Candidate: Studio Arts

Emily Mulvaney is from Moorhead, Minnesota and received a BFA from North Dakota State University. Mulvaney is an interdisciplinary artist who creates mixed media sculptures that examine reality through a biological and science-based lens.

“My work practice is an exploration into the microbial universe and its relation to self. The sculptures I create are inspired by factual and aesthetic aspects of microbiology as a manner of making the unseen, seen. My research takes place in my studio and the biology lab. “
