Scholarships

Financing a college education is one of the most important investments a student will make. Approximately 2/3 of all UM students receive some type of financial aid, and SVMA has specific scholarships available to full-time majors (both Art and Media Arts majors) ranging from $500 to $5000. 

General Applications are generally available on the UM Scholarship Portal in November for the following year. Once the General Application is complete Art and Media Arts students will have the opportunity to fill out the Conditional Application in the UM Scholarship Portal once they open in the Spring Semester.

You cannot be considered for a Department Scholarship until you fill out the additional Conditional Application. While not all SVMA scholarships are need-based we recommend you fill out your FAFSA annually by the December 1st deadline to be considered for work study and need-based scholarships both within SVMA and from the University of Montana.

This year the UM Scholarship Portal will open on Nov. 1st, 2021 and the Conditional Applications will opened soon afterwards on a date to be determined.

Please note that our Conditional Application is used for students across the College of Arts and Media and the portion of the Conditional Application that is filled out by Arts and Media Arts Students is SECTION 2.
